OVERVIEW
Tumarg inhabits the swamps and lowlands. Its body is covered with thick dark fur, over which moss, lichens, and swamp mud grow.
In a stationary position, the beast is almost indistinguishable from the surrounding terrain. Many travelers mistake it for a pile of branches, an old stump, or a overgrown islet in the middle of the mire.
The main danger is not the beast's strength, but the mist it emits. It mixes with the swamp fog and gradually deprives the victim of orientation. A person begins to get confused about direction, reacts more slowly to danger, and unwittingly ventures deeper into the predator's territory.
It is the Tumargs that many locals believe to be the cause of people's disappearances in the swamps.
